HYT’s T1 Millsamme Editions is a concept that ages like a fine wine
HYT releases limited editions of its new T1 collection for the season.
The three new dial colors – green, purple and chocolate brown – evoke the transition from fall to winter, as well as winemaking.
“Millsamme” is a term from the winemaking world that refers to a particularly good vintage.
Swiss wine isn’t as internationally renowned as Swiss watches, but the Swiss do make some delicious wines. One of Switzerland’s most famous wine regions is Neuch, known for its 1,000-year-old vines that bask in the warm sunshine on the shores of Lake Neuch. It’s these vineyards that inspired Neuch watchmaker HYT’s latest creation: three new fall T1 watches available for one season only.
They’re called the T1 Millsamme Editions, “millsamme” is a term from the winemaking world that refers to the year a certain wine was produced, usually denoting a very good vintage. HYT is, of course, known for its “fluid timekeeping”—so playing around with the language of oenology is only fitting. Shall we call them the sommeliers of haute horlogerie?
There are three T1 mill-simme versions: a green-dial model and a purple-dial model, as well as a chocolate brown-dial model with a 5N rose gold case and black-coated titanium elements. All three watches come with two different rubber straps: one color-matched and one black, and they all have titanium pin buckles. Measuring 45.3mm in diameter and 17.2mm thick, these watches are far from exquisite, but their muted color schemes and restrained dials make them the most demure watches in HYT’s collection.
